Super in your 40s. It’s time to get focused.

Typically your forties is a time of established careers, teenage kids and a mortgage that is no longer daunting. There are still plenty of demands on the budget, but by this age there’s a good chance there’s some spare cash that can be put to good use. As you pass the halfway mark of your working life, it’s time to give retirement planning a bit more attention.

Super in your 30s. It’s important to squeeze it in.

If you are in your thirties, chances are life revolves around children and a mortgage. As much as we love our kids, the fact is they cost quite a lot. As for the mortgage, this is the age during which repayments are generally at their highest, relative to income. And on top of that, one parent is often not working, or working only part time. Even if children aren’t a factor, career building is paramount during this decade.

Are you really expected to think about super at a time like this?

Well, yes, there are a few things you need to pay attention to.

Super in your 20s. Boring? Doesn’t have to be!

Superannuation is for the oldies, right? In some ways that’s true, but even in your twenties there are good reasons to take a bit more interest in your super. The average 25-year-old has around $10,000 in super, but the decisions you make now, even with relatively small sums of money, could earn you hundreds of thousands of extra dollars over your working life.

Testimonials

In December 2013 Kevin suffered a series of fractured vertebrae leaving him in a position of very restrictive mobility and a situation where he could not satisfactorily care for and look after himself.

Some months later our former Financial Planner advised us that he would be retiring & he introduced us to Matt Wood who with our sanction would look after us into the future.

Matt quickly established a friendly and close working relationship with us and he spent quite a lot of time studying and understanding our position especially now with Kevin’s handicaps.

Because of Kevin’s health he lost his ability to operate his own business in finance and under his Loss of Income insurance policy which he had held for many years he was able to claim a small amount before the insurers unexpectedly canceling his policy due to his age.

This had a dramatic effect on our family life particularly on Kevin’s stability and demeanour. Matt noticed the position we were in and took it upon himself to look at various alternatives to assist us through this difficult time and the future.

Utilising his knowledge of Financial Risk products and his many contacts in that industry he explored how we could make
claims against Kevin’s two insurance policies for 1) Trauma and 2) Total and Permanent Disablement.

He believed we had opportunity to be successful with either or both and guided and assisted us to proceed with the claims separately.

During the processes of both claims he worked as a very successful conduit between us & the insurers and because of his willingness and his tireless work over many months we were successful in both instances.

It is with immense sincerity that we thank Matt for his belief and persistence and it is without any compulsion
that we recommend him to anyone who may consider engaging his services.

Those who do will only benefit.

Taking care of family…

We feel so much better now that all our family insurance is in place.  The days had been passing by so quickly that we realised that our family was growing but their security was not ensured.

After a meeting with the staff from Insight Financial Partners, our mind was put at ease. We were given a checklist of items to bring along to our meeting so there was no back and forth, who has time for that these days!  During the meeting it was like talking to each other, they understood us straight away.  We then received our proposal, signed off and everything was put in place for us, no muss, no fuss.

Loving their new lifestyle…

We just love our new life style, very laid back and enjoying the simple things life has to offer. We have a beautiful home and the village life suits us well. We still play bowls both at club level and inter-village, of which we are very involved.

Thanks to you we are financially comfortable. Our savings account is still looking very healthy. We have had a holiday in Bali (something we thought we would never do again) where we stayed in a fabulous resort. This year we are doing Koh Samui and Singapore. This puts no strain on our savings as we manage our finances quite well, thanks to you.
